When is an As built required?
At the conclusion of construction projects, local councils often mandate a Work As Executed Survey (WAE) or As Built Survey to be carried out and verified by a professional registered surveyor. This survey plays a crucial role in verifying that the completed works align with the approved design plans. The surveyor compares the constructed position and levels of roads, access ways, stormwater systems, sewers, and other infrastructure with the original design specifications to ensure conformity. They are often mandatory before:
- Final development sign-offs
- Occupation certificates
- Asset handovers to councils or utilities providers
- Compliance inspections
